Reach Your Peak gives high achieving, high potential, low income students the opportunity to attend college. Scholarships open doors for talented individuals, who would otherwise find higher education inaccessible. The Reach Your Peak program encourages students to work fewer hours and focus on their classes, reducing financial stress.
Scholarships
Student selected for Reach Your Peak must demonstrate financial need. Additionally,
they must maintain at least a 2.5 grade point average. Most students are
working two or three jobs, supporting themselves and trying to pay for
their schooling.
Program
In addition to reducing the financial burden, Reach Your Peak offer students
the chance to learn to become future leaders by engaging and establishing
unique relationships with community donors.
History
UCCS launched the Reach Your Peak Scholarship Program in 2000 to help students
achieve their dreams and to solidify the region's workforce. Bruce and
Anne Shepard's support of the program provides opportunities for new generations
of students to achieve their dreams. Along with other community members,
the Shepards give generously to the scholarship program, and as importantly,
they give personal commitment to students.
